There once was a fishy named Red
Round and round his bowl he would tread
He would bubble and float
With no need for a boat
He had water and rocks for a bed

Had a scary morning, after I woke up
The female emptied out my bowl, and put me in a cup
She said the rocks were dirty, in the water where I roam
She poured me back when it was clean,
Boy! I'm glad I'm Home!

Down in south Georgia , in a little bitty bowl
Swam a red fishy, just look at him go
I'm a little Betta, with nothing to do
But swim around my bowl, and my snail friend too.

My humans amuse me sometimes.

I couldn't find the power switch for the computer the last couple of days. The grown female has been gone alot all day. I am hungry though. I thought since the computer was on I thought I would let the grown female know that I need food today. blub

Bath...
Ahhhh.... I am clean once again. I think that I must be good at fin sigh language, the grown female seemed to know just what I wanted. The cat Muddy, who's blog I read, had trouble getting through a door. Door Shmoor... I don't need them. Maybe he ought to try a bowl. He does seem cool for a cat , though. I would love to fight too, like he does. I even like to glare at anyone walking by. Maybe I could help him glare at this Buzzy he keeps talking about.
But then, whyn risk it , I am a fish after all.

Bubble Bubble Bubble....
I blow bubbles and they float to the top of my bowl . The last two days the young female fed me. Now I smile and flip my fins at her alot. The other morning the grown male saw me resting on the bottom of my bowl and thought that I had expired. I love to keep my humans guessing. Hey.. isn't it about time for some fresh water here....!!

I'd like to be .. under the sea.. in an octopus's garden in the sand...
The young female had some purple box thingy that had some snappy sounds coming out of it. There were many words about .. fish.. :) and the sea. There was something about three fishies swimming over the damn and meeting a shark. I think I will stay in my nice safe bowl.. if you please. Though I approve of her choice of .. now what did they call it? .. Oh yeh, Music. blub

Blub...
I almost thought everyone forgot me today. The grown female was gone all day, and didn't feed me at the usual time. I did hear that I have an adopted cousin , of sorts. One of the grown females sisters has a male betta like me. Maybe I could e-mail him . He might not be as smart as me and know how to use the computer yet.

I don't get around much...
I watched the young humans passing by me .. I have determined that they do not have water on their side of my glass bowl. They have these appendages that hit the floor when they move... What do you call them again ?? Oh Yea, Feet ! ( Arial is one of my favorite movie characters), but I have no desire , so far, to leave the saftey of my bowl. Now some day a larger bowl might be nice, but I am content on my shelf space.

Round and round and round my bowl....
Actually I like going round in my bowl. Especially circling this snail creature that doesn't move. And then when someone walks close enough I charge them. The grown female smiles and says "HI".

Company... not in my bowl
I love when a human walks by my bowl. I flip my fins madly and stare at them. Sometimes they look back. The grown female says it seems like I am smiling at her. She may be right... these creatures with no fins make me smile.
This morning the grown male and the small male were running around saying something about "fishing". gulp!..
Fortunately they didn't mean me. Later... I heard something about a boat .. and a big one that got away. shhh... (I'm glad it got away).

My bowl.. My bowl..
It is fresher today, and I have company.. or sorts. The grown female put some clean water in my bowl. It was a little scary while she started to make less my water. But it is worth it to be clean. I guess you could call it a fishy bath. She also put in a snail ( of the lifeless variety ) with a sign that says "No Fishing". I hope not! (the fishing, I mean) blub..blub..

Hey, you can see a picture of me at http://bonnie2.textamerica.com

Here I am... In a bowl....

I like it when my food floats on the top of the water, but if it falls I will search the bottom. I picked up a blue rock in my mouth and carried it for a few seconds. The grown female thought it was stuck, but she didn't realize that I was just playing "carry the rock" with her. She tried to put her finger in the bowl to knock it out of my mouth. Then I dropped it . I didn't want to upset her with my intelligence, too much. She does buy the food.

Hi My name is Red Fish. I am a male Betta. I live in a bowl on a shelf above the TV in a living room in a house in South GA. I have blue, pink and purple rocks in the bottom of my bowl. There are four humans who live in the house with me. A grown female, a grown male and a young male and a young female. The grown female let me substitute for her one day in her blog. At bonnie.bamablog.com I have lived here for seven days now and my humans are hopeful that I will have a long life. They didn't have much luck with gold fish a couple of years ago. I also have a cousin ( of sorts) who blogs, he is a cat. You can find his link under BloggingCat at Bamablog.com . I am actually glad that the cat lives at another address. It would be a little nerve racking to have a cat staring at me everyday. But as long as he is else where then we can be friends. His female human is the sister of mine. My life is simple. so I will attempt to find the interesting , in the everyday. Feeding time is my favorite. I also love to rush to the front of the bowl whenever a human walks by. I would love a good fight.
