Eulogy To Red Fish

I loved to watch him
In his bowl
He had spunk
He had soul

It was fun
To watch Red swim
He would come
When we looked at him

It seemed that he
Would recognize
My smiling face
When I walked by

I'll miss that fish
He was my friend
Now to Heaven
His soul I send

GoodBye Red Fish.....

Now don't be sad
Cause there'll be more
He has two friends
Who live outdoors

There is Cat
And there is Dog
And they write
Their very own blog

I'm still here
But I won't eat
I'm just feeling
Kind of beat

I'm still fighting
But I fear
My time to leave
Might be near
The female cleaned
My water bowl
In hopes to find
That I won't go
She looks to see
If I'm alive
Everytime that
She walks by
I keep her guessing
When she's here
But my fate
Is not to clear

I'm still swimming
But a little sick
I hope I don't have
The fishy "ick"

I'm very brave
My humans are sad
I show my spunk
Even though I feel bad

I have a cousin Blue Fish in Alabama, My female humans father wrote this poem for him.

An Ode from Blue Fish....

I love it when my people change my water out

My vision gets much clearer and my plant roots all hangout

I hover among the roots and take a nip or two

But feeding time is best of all cause eating is what I do

A big black dog will look at me and I’m glad she’s not a cat

I try to hold very still and do not make a move or anything like that

My people call be Osea cause I’m blue as I can be

I share my vase and plant with all who come to see

I am so lonely
When no ones around
It is so quiet
With nary a sound
But I'll just keep swimming
That's what I do best
Round my snail friend
Then take a rest
When the humans get home
I'll watch through the bowl
And when they get close
Then charging I'll go
I'm glad when there's something
Happening near
I keep track of my humans
They think I'm a dear.

The large human male was bothering me again. One of these days I just might jump out and bite him ... he he. Maybe if I look scary enough he will back off. If I could just flare out my gills just a little bit more.. un... un...
